How long has it been since you’ve indulged yourself in delicious delicacies? With the heavy Bangalore traffic we absolutely understand if you haven’t got the chance to visit your most favourite bakery in a while. Even if your weeks are busy and long, we all deserve a break! So, we, at Dream a Dozen, held a poll to decide our favourite bakeries (us too, obviously :P ) and, after multiple arguments and fights, finally landed upon a compilation of Bengaluru’s finest bakeries, led by women, from each corner of the town:
1. Cake It Easy: Malleshawaram, Central Bangalore
Based out of Malleshwaram, Namita Baindoor has been running Cake It Easy since 2013. Their charming and cute designs are visible in their exquisite collection on Instagram. These handcrafted delights are sure to blow the minds of your guests away! On top of that, their cake designs are completely customisable. So, what are you waiting for? 2. Dream a Dozen: J.P Nagar, South Bangalore
Well, did you expect us to not list ourselves as one of our favourites? 👀 While we do have our preferences on the menu like our chocolate truffle cakes, blueberry cheesecake or our Nutella Ferrero Rocher, what makes us top this list, according to us (not biased at all btw), is that we get to taste the products of our little experiments. Whether it be the times we are curating a new menu and collectively frown at a rather mysterious flavour or the times we make our own frozen popsicles from whatever is available in the kitchen, we love it all! 3. Butter: Hebbal, North Bangalore
As the name suggests, Butter seems to have charmed all of its customers with their trademark smooth and creamy buttercream frosting. Based out of Hebbal, their cakes range from cutesy designs for themed birthday parties to elegant, floral cakes that definitely deserve a place at your weddings. Apart from their charming cakes, what made us add them to this list is that all of their cakes have a rich, moist flavour which we absolutely love! So, what are you waiting for? 4. Ecstasy Homemade Kreations: Kaggadasapura, East Bangalore
Based out of Kaggadasapura, Parrejat Boraah, or Pari, as she prefers to be called, has been running Ecstasy Homemade Kreations since 2014. Known for their exceptional skill in human sugar modelling, most of their cakes feature endearing toppers with meticulous details. Apart from customised cakes, they also bake standard goodies like macarons, cupcakes and brownies so do make sure to check them out! Oh & yess that's a cake not a handbag! :O
5. Shikha's Le Gateau: Domlur
Based out of Domlur, Shikha’s Le Gateau lives up to its elegant French name. From boozy liquor cakes to classic flavour cakes like nutty chocolate, they are sure to leave a lasting impact on your mind. Even if you are not much of a sweet tooth, you should definitely check them out since apart from their delicious sweet treats, their savoury options like mini pizzas and aloo samosas will also leave you drooling.
So, there you go. Our list of favourites we finally compiled after multiple discussions with our local staff. As you might have already noticed, all of the ones listed above are women-led business. As an all-women kitchen, we love to explore and find out other women entrepreneurs with the same passion and dreams as us. As a bonus, they also bake delicacies we have narrowed down as one of our favourites so what else can you ask for? 🙈
